Jenifer Solidade brings the music of Cape Verde to Hamburg. Together with her trio Mindel, she fuses traditional morna and coladeira music with pop, funk and afro-beat influences. As a former Portuguese colony, Cape Verde influenced Portuguese as well as African culture: morna is similar to fado, and the joyous sound of coladeira has a hint of Brazilian samba and Caribbean influences.
