When you think of Lisbon’s lively music scene, Fado is probably the first thing that comes to mind. Yet the city also boasts a string of first-class orchestras, with the Gulbenkian Orchestra probably the most famous among them. Originally formed as a chamber orchestra, it now tours the world as a full orchestra, and has been performing under the renowned young conductor Lorenzo Viotti since the 2018/19 season.
