To mark the christening of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service‘s (DGzRS) new rescue cruiser »Hamburg«, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen is performing a programme tailored to this special occasion, including Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s »Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage« and Piazzolla’s »The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires«. The orchestra has been the DGzRS’s honorary ambassador since the rescue service celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2015. And although the DGzRS finances all its work exclusively through donations, it does not use any donations for the matinee.
