The Aurora Orchestra has crowned itself the »world’s most creative orchestra«. That is just the right dynamic for their long-awaited debut in the Elbphilharmonie, in which the orchestra will be revealing the entire breadth of their scintillating sound palette. In his »Three Studies«, the British composer Thomas Adès explores the music of the French Baroque composer François Couperin. Together with the highly acclaimed pianist Alexandre Tharaud, one of the leading representatives of French piano music, the orchestra then performs Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto. And with Hector Berlioz’s »Symphonie fantastique«, the programme features one of the most famous Romantic orchestral works, which recounts the story of a passionate love in sensational and revolutionary tone colours.
