Beim Internationalen Pariser Opernwettbewerb im Januar 2014 räumte Omo Bello groß ab: Sie gewann den Gesamtpreis, den Preis für die französische Oper des 19. Jahrhunderts und den Publikumspreis – keine schlechten Voraussetzungen für das »Rising Stars«-Programm. Darüber hinaus hat Bello bereits bedeutende Rollen auf internationalen Bühnen gesungen: Glucks »Eurydice« in St. Petersburg, Verdis »Traviata« in Montpellier und Rossinis »Elvira« am Théatre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. Und schließlich empfahl sie kein geringerer als Thomas Quasthoff nach einem Meisterkurs dem Verbier Festival als »Contessa« in Mozarts »Hochzeit des Figaro«. Dabei hat die französisch-nigerianische Sopranistin zunächst fünf Jahre Zellbiologie und Genetik in Lagos studiert, ehe sie zur Musik und ans Pariser Konservatorium wechselte. Begleitet von dem aus Paris stammenden Pianisten, Dirigenten und Komponisten Clément Mao-Takacs ist Omo Bello in Hamburg mit italienischem »Belcanto« von Bellini bis Donizetti zu Gast.

We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
