In this concert two exceptional ensembles come together to celebrate the 200th birthday of the operetta king Jacques Offenbach. In the first half, Wolfgang Schmidtke and his jazz ensemble bow down before the »Kölsche Jung’« (Cologne boy) Jakob Offenbach, who made it big in Paris under the name Jacques. »Frère Jacques« is the third album by the popular duo Gianluigi Trovesi and Gianni Coscia – a homage to their French kindred spirit Offenbach. The duo takes to the stage of the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall after the interval.
