CANCELLED: Tomasz Stańko New York Quartet
»My Polish Heart«
Trumpet player Tomasz Stańko already wrote jazz history in the 1960s in the band of pianist and composer Krzysztof Komeda. Today, at the age of 75, the European jazz pioneer still touches his audience with his timeless, intense improvisations – challenged by an ensemble of musicians who are considerably younger.
Please note: Tomasz Stańko regrettably passed away on 29 July 2018, therefore this concert has been cancelled. The violinist Adam Bałdych, the pianist and NDR Bigband musicianVladyslav Sendecki and the Atom String Quartet now perform in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall under the title of »Piano Meets Strings«. Tickets for the Tomasz Stańko New York Quartet concert are valid for this replacement concert.
