»It’s this deep and painful longing in his slow movements – that’s where you find the real Mozart«, says Hélène Grimaud. When the French pianist makes a guest appearance at the Elbphilharmonie with two Mozart concertos – the dramatic D minor work and the sunny concerto in F major –, she is accompanied by the Camerata Salzburg, an ensemble that couldn’t be more experienced in this repertoire. Under the motto »Playing on one’s own responsibility with a community spirit«, the well-known chamber orchestra, permanent ensemble at the Salzburg Festival and the Mozart Week in that city, has been cultivating its typical »Mozart sound« since 1952.
