100 Years University of Hamburg
Anniversary Concert
To mark the University of Hamburg’s 100th anniversary, the university’s choir and symphony orchestra perform Henrik Albrecht’s »20.000 Meilen unter dem Meer « (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea). In this musical narration inspired by the Jules Verne novel, the action is woven into the musical score, as in a live radio play, by the well-known dubbing actors Tobias Kluckert (Bradley Cooper), Norman Matt (Michael Fassbender) and Marcus Off (Johnny Depp). Before that, the choir and the orchestra dive into the aquatic theme with works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Whitacre and Mäntyjärvi.
