Description

No other concerto embodies the chamber music spirit of interplay in such a brilliant and light-footed manner as Beethoven’s famous Triple Concerto. Sadly it is a piece that is performed only too rarely – the reason being that it requires three outstanding soloists to play together in perfect union.

With the Festival Strings Lucerne, Vilde Frang, Nicolas Altstaedt and Nicholas Angelich, the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall hosts a superb ensemble and three musicians who are in a class of their own. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 rounds off what is sure to be an uplifting evening.
