Description

At its New Year’s Concert 2024, the Stiftung Flügel-Fundus presents well-known works by Chopin, Liszt and Beethoven, among others, whose cheerful mood is perfect for the start of the year. The two new scholarship holders of the foundation, who won the audition in front of a high-calibre jury in November 2023, will be introduced at the start: Michelle Candotti and Stefan Bonev. The 18-year-old Louisa Sophia Jefferson from Hamburg will also be performing. She will receive special funding for young talents, which is being awarded for the first time by the Flügel-Fundus foundation.

The Hamburg Young Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Justus Tennie will play a Romance for violin and orchestra. The soloist is the orchestra’s concertmaster Carlotta Nordmann. The concert will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Andrey Denisenko on the grand piano.

The Flügel-Fundus Foundation supports young, talented pianists who are at the beginning of their professional career and gives them a jump-start for their concert career. The artistic standard is first-class, and all New Year’s concerts in recent years have always been sold out.
