Classical masterpiece

Anton Bruckner’s Seventh Symphony enjoys widespread popularity, and is one of the greatest masterpieces of classical music. It opens with a theme which ascends to radiant heights. The expansive second movement delights with the special warm timbre of the Wagner tubas. Then, after a rhythmic, driving scherzo, the work ends in high spirits, in an almost boisterous mood.

The NDR Jugendsinfonieorchester is made up of members of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra Academy, students from German colleges of music and prize-winners of the youth music competition »Jugend musiziert« aged 18–25. With two projects a year, the orchestra offers gifted young musicians the opportunity to work at a professional level on representative orchestral works.
