Misa – mach mit! Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg

On May 23, 2026, Germany will celebrate »Ehrentag« for the first time – a nationwide day of participation marking the anniversary of the Basic Law. Under the patronage of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the day will honor all those who volunteer their time.

The Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra will mark the Day of Honor with a special concert where participation is part of the concept: Between the movements of Ariel Ramírez’s »Misa Criolla«, performed by members of the orchestra and the Audi Youth Choir Academy, musical numbers will be performed with all interested visitors who have participated in a corresponding workshop before the concert begins. No prior experience is required to participate; workshops are offered in choral singing or percussion. Through the unique experience of making music together in the impressive halls of the Elbphilharmonie, a sense of community and solidarity becomes tangibly real.
