Sworn partners instead of lone warriors

They alternate between ensemble and solo playing and are among the most promising young talents of our time: the LGT Young Soloists. The young musicians of the Swiss-based orchestra come from 20 nations and have been performing on the most prestigious international concert stages for over ten years. The soloist is cellist Alexey Stadler (*1991), who began playing the cello at the age of four and recently became a professor at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. The musicians have chosen a deeply European programme, ranging from the Swedish composer Kurt Atterberg (1887-1974) to the Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks (*1946) and the British composer Gustav Holst (1874-1934) to the German composer Max Bruch (1838-1920) and the French composer Maurice Ravel (1875-1937).
