Jazz in the Kulturcafé
The Danish-Dutch jazz quartett Træben is one of those bands that is always looking forward to perform, and this can be felt in its energetic concerts. In its recently released third album »Looking At The Storm« Træben has incorporated raw elements of rock into its music. Insisting, distortive guitar riffs set the mood in the faster parts, whereas in the more gentle sections, melodies form a natural contrast. Træben’s catchy melodies are deconstructed and rebuilt in solos, but the shape of the compositions always remains understandable to the listener.
The individual band members of the 2007 founded Træben have been working together for over 15 years in various formations. The band has become a regular on the international jazz scene with concerts in Denmark, Belgium and Luxembourg, and a tour in Canada.
