In the Audience Orchestra, dedicated amateurs rehearse with great enthusiasm and at a very high artistic level under conductor Michael Petermann, the director of the Hamburger Konservatorium. Each year the orchestra gives performances, in which they play the pieces they’ve been practicing so intensively.

In 1790, when Altona belonged to the Danish state, John Blacker, the English merchant and court master of the »Hamburg Company«, acquired a piece of land. He created a park in the English style there, complete with a country house. Today it is known as Goßlers Park, after a later owner. These days, the building is used by the »ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius« and the Bucerius Law School as a cultural centre. Rooms can also be hired for private events.
