Heavenly Baroque

The spectacular setting to music of the 109th Psalm »Dixit Dominus« is not only Handel’s first weighty work in the church music genre. It also extends far beyond his other psalm compositions many times over in terms of scope and arrangement. With Hansjörg Albrecht and the Handel Festival Orchestra Halle, the Carl-Philipp-Emanuel-Bach Choir Hamburg has invited along some genuine experts in early music, and most especially experts in Handel’s music, as musical partners.
