Anna Lucia Richter / Lieder Recital
Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival
»We call our programme ›Liederkreis‹ even though it goes way beyond Robert Schumann’s Op. 39,« explain Anna Lucia Richter and Michael Gees in the booklet of their 2015 CD »Liederkreis«. Alongside Schumann’s lieder they perform arrangements of folk songs by Brahms and Britten. But that is not all. They tune in to the lieder and the words, and create little »extempores« – improvised intermezzi in which they explore their own emotions and, at the same time, expand and enhance the conceptual world of the Schumann lieder. Sir András Schiff recognised the great potential of the young soprano Anna Lucia Richter at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in 2016, where she gave a celebrated lieder evening as part of Schiff’s artist in residence programme. She now returns to the festival – this time with her accompanist Michael Gees.
