The prize-winning Hamburg singer-songwriter Anna Depenbusch is a poetic storyteller and a master of ruptures. She forges stories from truths, imagination and irony. She slips easily into the role of the lover, the wounded, the dreamer and observer. She whispers and whistles, quavers, sneers and moves – and sometimes, as in the dynamic »Haifischbarpolka«, flickering images of 1920s cabaret briefly scurry by. After her debut at the Elbphilharmonie, Anna Depenbusch now performs her new programme for 2020, »Eine Frau, ein Klavier und sonst nichts. Purer Genuss« (One woman, one piano and nothing else. Pure indulgence), at the Laeiszhalle.
