Everything in flow
»Light at an Angle« is the title of the debut album of Lea Maria Fries’s solo project »22° Halo«. The album is a collection of sensual snapshots from life, a flowing movement between vibrant awareness, dream and the various levels in between – all expressed in a soft and impressionistic way. Traditional vocal jazz forms the basic framework for interpretations that also draw from experimental electronica, contemporary R&B and introverted classical, as well as post jazz and post rock. The quartet’s four acoustic elements – voice, double bass, piano, drums – form the sound radius of continuously flowing, mercurial sounds. The album’s vision is that each piece offers an identifiable emotion and a narrative of its own.
Jazz at the Kulturcafé is a monthly event presenting the most promising upcoming artists in the jazz and singer-songwriter scene. It is the perfect experimental platform for musicians and bands from Hamburg and all over the country. The atmosphere is laid back – and admission is free!
