Jazz Piano
Fünf Konzerte im Kleinen Saal der Laeiszhalle. Anything goes! Das Klavier spielt im Jazz die Rolle des Alleskönners - mal als Stimmführer auftrumpfend, mal die Rhythmusgruppe anschiebend, hier breit Akkorde entfaltend, dort rasante Bögen ziehend. Und die Musiker, die solch Anforderungsprofil mit Inspiration erfüllen, sind häufig die genialsten Köpfe des Genres, wie ein Blick auf die Vielzahl legendärer Jazzpianisten zeigt. Fünf Künstler, die die edle Traditionslinie eines »Duke« oder »Count« als stilprägende Solisten, Komponisten undArrangeure bis heute fortsetzen, sind nun im Zyklus »Jazz Piano« versammelt. So kehrt der hochexpressive Brad Mehldau in die Laeiszhalle zurück und beweist mit einem Soloabend, warum er seit vielen Jahren zur absoluten Elite seines Faches zählt. Kultstatus genießt auch der schwedische Pianist Bobo Stenson, einer der herausragendsten ECM-Künstler, der in seiner langen Karriere mit Musikern wie Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Don Cherry und natürlich Jan Garbarek zusammenarbeitete. Die Hamburger Formation des schwedischen Pianisten Martin Tingvall hat sich mit drei Alben, die skandinavische Folkmelodien zu poetischen Bildern entwickeln, ins internationale Rampenlicht gespielt und wurde dafür zuletzt mit dem Echo ausgezeichnet. Ebenfalls Echo-Gewinner 2010 ist der New Yorker Pianist Vijay Iyer. In seinem aktuellen Projekt »Tirtha« kombiniert der Sohn indischer Einwanderer Jazz mit südindischer Kunstmusik und Tabla-Klängen. Wie viel frische Ideen auch im puren Jazzidiom aus der Triobesetzung herauszuholen sind, demonstriert der Amerikaner Marc Copland: Einst als Fusion-Saxofonist mit Michael Brecker unterwegs, zieht Copland als Pianist heute die Hörer mit faszinierendem Klangzauber in seinen Bann. People who are severely disabled: if the letter B is noted on your disabled pass, the person accompanying you receives a free subscription seat (bookable by phone under +49 40 357 666 66, by email to barrierefrei@elbphilharmonie.de or in person at the Elbphilharmonie’s ticket shops).
As a subscriber, you receive a discount of 10% off a maximum of two individually booked tickets for many more concerts in the current season. As soon as you have paid for your subscription you can make use of your 10% discount.

Discounts for Symphoniker Hamburg's concerts

You would rather pick out your own individual concerts than book an entire concert series? In that case, the »Wahl-Abo« is just right for you. It is the best way to experience the programmatic breadth of the Symphoniker Hamburg and not miss out on special rates: a 20% discount when buying tickets for five (or more) different concerts at the same time. The discount is only available at the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle Tickets shops and when ordering by telephone.

Discounts
With the Abo-Card, two tickets can be purchased for many concerts of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Norddeutscher Rundfunk with a 10% discount. The 10% discount can be claimed directly after payment of the subscription.

Renewal: no problem
A subscription is valid for the selected series in season and will be renewed for a further season automatically, unless written notice to terminate the renewal is given by 30 June of the current season (exception: the Symphoniker Hamburg's Hasi Concerts).

Clash of appointments? Swop or transfer!
If you are unable to attend a concert in your subscription series, a voucher will be issued, which you may then redeem for your chosen concert of the same promoter (exceptions: NDR Bigband, NDR Jazz, NDR Vokalensemble and NDR Chamber Music Recitals series as well as the Symphoniker Hamburg’s »Hasi Concerts«).
Only one swop is accepted per subscription and season. Swops can only be executed within season. You must give notice of a swop request in person or by phone one week before the concert at the latest.
The right to attend the subscribed concerts can also be transferred to third parties.

Free travel to concerts with HVV
On the respective date of the event, the subscription card is valid for one journey to the venue and the corresponding return journey within the A–F zones of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV).
