Description
The evolution of musical instruments has brought forth astonishing developments in the last millennium. Yet that is nothing compared to the quantum leap that electronic music made at the threshold to the 21st century. Whether one considers the cabled analogue effect machines soldered together by industrious tinkerers or the elegant gleaming laptops of creative masterminds – the instruments of here and now offer their virtuosi more sound possibilities than ever before. The series ePhil, entering its fifth season, continues to explore this infinite sound universe, and once again four stimulating guest artists perform in the KörberForum. This time with pioneers of the genre such as Markus Popp, who founded the music collective »Oval« at the beginning of the 1990’s, and the Krautrock legend Hans-Joachim Roedelius, who collaborates with Stefan Schneider from the trio »To Rococo Rot«. Joining this year’s line-up are the French techno sound architect Kangding Ray, who lives in Berlin, and the British duo Emptyset, who also incorporate video projections. In cooperation with the Körber-Stiftung
