Description

Some music creates pictures in the mind, other music awakens deep emotions. At ePhil, the concert series for electronic music at the KörberForum, the audience experiences a true »sound cinema«. Using computers, samplers and synthesisers, internationally renowned artists showcase their music – from low flickers to booming beats, a modern sound backdrop. Schneider TM on his visit from Berlin creates true symphonies out of everyday sounds. The New York composer Phill Niblock comes to Hamburg a few days after his 80th birthday (!), together with his longtime colleague Thomas Ankersmit. Murcof shows just how sampled segments of orchestral pieces by composers such as Arvo Pärt can sound. And finally, the artist collective Schnitt from Florence combines music and visuals in performance. Accompanying the concerts is an installation in the entrance foyer, a joint project of the Körber-Stiftung, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and the Elbphilharmonie Konzerte. In cooperation with the Körber Foundation. Presented by ByteFM.
