When Hamburg succumbs to the grey drizzle of a dull February, questions about the meaning of life can seem more pressing than usual. The »Lux aeterna« festival offers a warming, sensual response to this angst. Now in its third year, Lux aeterna – a »music festival for the soul« – combines sounds, styles and works that revolve around spirituality and transcendence, including but not limited to the Christian tradition. The Elbphilharmonie and Hamburg’s biggest orchestras and churches have joined forces once again to deliver an eclectic programme over three weeks.
