Family Day

Music in every corner of the Elbphilharmonie – to listen to and to participate in, for children and families.

Every corner of the Elbphilharmonie is filled with music on Family Day. The event features not only an abundance of concerts suitable for children in both halls, one or two surprises are also in store on the Plaza and in the foyers – with music from classical to pop, where you can join in, groove along, have fun and experience things, or simply listen and lose yourself in your dreams. From small to big ensembles, for young ones and those young at heart aged 4 and above.

At the »Carnival of the Animals« Thomas Cornelius teases all kinds of animal sounds out of the Elbphilharmonie organ as Willi Weitzel tells short stories. In the Recital Hall, »Die Gäng« sing songs about and for children, which the adults will enjoy too. Rufus Beck tells the well-known fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, while the Symphoniker Hamburg provide the perfect musical accompaniment. And the boys of the Body Rhythm Factory show that you really can make music with anything.

Family Day is split into three slots and each slot offers the identical programme. Each programme item lasts 45 minutes.
