Yann Tiersen

It’s true that the soundtrack to the film »Amélie«, with Audrey Tatou in the title role, remains Yann Tiersen’s most successful work. In 2001, the year when »Amélie« was released, it was impossible to sit in a café without hearing Tiersen’s marvellous film score. But Tiersen by no means only composes for the movies: the sounds that surround him are always a great source of inspiration for him. Thus in 2016 he started to depict the French island of Ouessant, where he grew up, on his album »Eusa«. After two pieces written later that appeared on »The Lost Notebook«, and the 45-minute musical journey »Hent«, the French musician presents the complete musical portrait of his native island on tour.
