Yann Tiersen

Granted, the soundtrack to the film »The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain« is his most successful work to date – in 2001, the equally fabulous pieces bubbled through the air of every café – but Yann Tiersen is by no means only a film composer. Over the years, he has worked with many different artists and numerous orchestras; from post-punk bands to the Krautrock trio »Elektronische Staubband«. Tiersen is inspired by the sounds of nature and of the city. The ten piano pieces on his last album »Eusa« are a musical homage to his home, the Ile Ouessant, a small island located off the coast of Brittany.
