Martti Ahtisaari, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former President of Finland, acts as patron of the first Camerata concert of the 2017/18 season. The »Vision Europa« programme embarks on a journey across the European continent and three hundred years of European history: from the viola concerto written by the Finn Kalevi Aho in 1949 to Prokofiev’s »Visions fugitives«, composed prior to the October Revolution in Saint Petersburg. Also on the programme is Schubert’s Third Symphony, written for the pupils of the boarding school for music in Vienna, and Mozart’s grand Paris Symphony.
