Of course, the grand master of classicism is always present in today’s concert programmes, but the 250th anniversary of his birth offers an opportunity to look at his oeuvre with new intensity – especially at the Beethoven symphonies, which form an integral part of the DNA of the Vienna Philharmonic as they do with hardly any other orchestra.
