Ulrike Haage & Christian Meyer
Ulrike Haage is a pianist, composer and sound artist, and one of Germany’s most versatile musicians. In 2003 she became the first woman to be awarded the German Jazz Prize for her wide-ranging work. Ms Haage has been collaborating for many years now with Christian Meyer, who composes modern film, dance and theatre music, and »Stills« is their first joint album and live project. The virtuoso jazz poetess is united here with a prominent representative of electronic music. Together, they have produced an elegant and carefully-balanced mix of jazz, pop tunes, beats and acoustic-electronic soundscapes: »piano music of pure beauty« (Hamburger Abendblatt).
