Tropical Fado

Fado tells of the life of simple people, of the sea, of poverty, and in particular of »Saudade«: the longing for a better life, a fulfilled love and a homeland – a feeling shared by many Portuguese who left their country to seek their fortune abroad. Those include the ancestors of singer Edson Cordeiro, who emigrated to Brazil and took the language, music and culture of Portugal with them. »Tropical« is the title of Cordeiro’s programme, which does not shy away from experiments and dares to take the audience on a journey from classical fado to tropical Brazilian regions.
