2. Philharmonisches Konzert
Als »Hommage à Claude Debussy« schrieb Bernd Alois Zimmermann 1968 sein Konzert für zwei Klaviere: »Dialoge über die Zeiten hinweg von Träumenden, Liebenden, Leidenden und Betenden«. Erst nach seinem Tod erkannte man im Komponisten der Oper »Die Soldaten« einen ganz Großen der Neuen Musik. Debussys wohl populärste Komposition, der träumerische »Nachmittag eines Fauns«, schlägt die Brücke zum Vorbild. Ein imaginäres Gespräch zwischen dem Ritter von der traurigen Gestalt und seinem Knappen Sancho Pansa zeichnet Strauss’ Tondichtung »Don Quixote« nach. Der chevalereske Held selbst kämpft und liebt im edlen Solocello, sein Diener sekundiert in der sanften Bratsche. Mit phantastischer Tonmalerei führt die Partitur durch die Abenteuer in La Mancha. Klug zusammengestellte Programme sind das Markenzeichen, mit dem sich Andreas Grau und Götz Schumacher als eines der international renommiertesten Klavierduos profiliert haben. Mit ihrem weit reichenden Spektrum an Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten waren sie Gast bei diversen Festivals und Konzerthäusern und arbeiteten mit Dirigenten wie Michael Gielen, Lothar Zagrosek, Kent Nagano und Zubin Mehta zusammen. Am 11. Oktober ist das Duo im Kulturgespräch im Elbphilharmonie Kulturcafé zu erleben. Der Eintritt ist frei.

Since 1908, the Laeiszhalle has been a meeting place for Hamburg's musical life. The neo-baroque Laeiszhalle Grand Hall accommodates over 2,000 guests. (Please note: The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.)

Facilities for ladies are located behind the cloakrooms on all floors. Facilities for gentlemen can be found on the landing between the floors, also located behind the cloakrooms.
A fully accessible toilet for persons with mobility disabilities is located behind the cloakroom on the ground floor (Parkett links).

The Laeiszhalle is a separate concert hall located three kilometres away from the Elbphilharmonie.
We suggest visitors arrive at the Laeiszhalle main entrance not later than 30 minutes before the start of the concert or event. Late seating is not guaranteed and latecomers may not be admitted to the concert hall.
The entrance of the Recital Hall is located on Gorch-Fock-Wall.
