Bach / Villa-Lobos / Mompou
Heitor Villa-Lobos, Brazil’s great national composer is all too seldom played – all the more reason for a tropical teatime concert!
In addition to the »Descrobimento do Brasil«, the musical description of his native country, Villa-Lobos’s guitar pieces are particularly adept at transporting the spirit of the South American Amazon state.
These will be performed following a Bach partita by the young guitarist Sean Shibe. Born in Edinburgh in 1992, Shibe completed his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and soon became a soloist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, attracting international attention. Numerous highly acclaimed performances in Europe and North America followed. After the »Latino Nights« concert in Edinburgh, critics said, »Sean Shibe is not an act to be missed!«
