Scintillating finale
The Symphoniker Hamburg’s season finale in the Laeiszhalle Grand Hall opens with György Ligeti’s rhythmically thrilling »Concert Romanesc«. The work is based on a number of Romanian folk melodies. For a long time, Béla Bartók’s music played a pivotal role in Ligeti’s compositional approach, with a focus on incorporating folk elements into the avantgarde.
