Symphoniker Hamburg / Ion Marin
»Bekenntnisse in Moll«
Description
Antonín Dvořak was lovesick when he composed his famous Cello Concerto in B minor: he was haunted by the great love of his youth who had always been out of his reach. Dvořak once said crudely of his heart-rending virtuosic concerto: »Think of a boy who is madly in love – that’s what it’s about.« The Symphoniker Hamburg have invited cellist Andrei Ioniță to perform the solo part. They will also be performing an early Schubert symphony, composed at the tender age of 19. It is often called the »Tragic« Symphony, and it too features passion-filled passages.
