Symphoniker Hamburg / Chamber Music Concert
Mozart / Beethoven / Brahms
The Symphoniker Hamburg opens its fantastic chamber music series in the Laeiszhalle Recital Hall with piano trios by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms. Mozart had written delightful piano trios such as his late one in G major, but Beethoven was the first to really make the three instruments equal partners – this becomes especially clear in his masterful »Ghost Trio«. Brahms’s Piano Trio No. 1 is also a densely constructed work. The composer later revised the piece »not to provide it with a wig, but simply to comb its hair a little«.
