With music by Count Basie and Thad Jones, the Hamburg Music Council invites you to embark on a journey into the big band era. The Landesjugendjazzorchester Hamburg – a top ensemble and the prime example of the city’s sponsorship of jazz – demonstrates the wide range and expressive power of big band music in this concert featuring its new workshop band.
The Landesjugendjazzorchester Hamburg fosters the city’s most talented and ambitious jazz musicians. Additionally, the newly-founded workshop band brings especially gifted school students together for a jazz workshop that lasts four days.
