Stradivari Quartett
KammermusikPlus
The Stradivari Quartett strives to achieve the optimum in music making, as the famous violinmaker Stradivari did with his instruments. Antonio Stradivari provides the framework, as it were, in the quartet: the »Aurea« of 1715 in the hands of the first violinist and the cello »Suggia«, two years its junior, are complemented by the »Ex-Wannamaker Hart« violin, built by Stradivari’s successor Giovanni Battista Guadagnini in 1767, and a 1690 viola from the workshop of Hendrick Willems. On these first-class instruments, the four members of the quartet play chamber music at the highest level. At their concert in the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall, three dancers provide an expressive background to their playing.
