»No-one else in Germany makes such sad, beautiful and sublime pop music,« wrote Spiegel Online about Stella Sommer, whose albums the online magazine has already voted among the year’s best several times over. The young North German singer founded her band »Die Heiterkeit« more than ten years ago, and since then she has released several successful albums with them. In a regularly changing line-up, the group has even attracted international attention with its emotional and intimate songs, which are all written by Sommer herself. Pop magazine Spex wrote about Stella Sommer, who now lives in Berlin: »There are very few artists who express the diffuse feelings of her generation so well in music«.
