Sistanagila / Guy Braunstein
»The four seasons – oriental style«
Cultural exchange at its best
The Israeli and Iranian members of the ensemble Sistanagila, who live in Berlin, are looking to establish a dialogue – especially in these times of political tension. With music from Israel and Persia, they forge a musical bridge between two worlds. In their compositions, Sistanagila make use of both folk and religious tunes from klezmer music and also sephardic and traditional Persian music. To this mix they add elements of modern and classical compositions as well as melodies from flamenco, jazz and even progressive metal. The result is an exciting new style of music that seems to know no bounds.
