At their Elbphilharmonie debut in November 2018 when they performed specially arranged songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, the SFJAZZ Collective musicians were acclaimed by an enraptured audience that was all too ready to dance. The band now returns to the site of their success.

The SFJAZZ Collective’s trademark has always been new arrangements of music by influential figures from jazz history such as Wayne Shorter, Ornette Coleman and Thelonious Monk. Gradually, the collective also turned to other sources, including the songs of Sly Stone and Miles Davis’s legendary album »In a Silent Way«. At the Elbphilharmonie, the SFJAZZ Collective now presents an energetic programme with new compositions, inspired by and in answer to the extraordinary social and global problems that have defined our lives over the last year.
