School Concert »Welcome Home!«
School Years 9–13
A steaming plate of curry, the snow-capped Alps, grandma’s wrinkles – “home” means something different to each one of us. The world-famous Mahler Chamber Orchestra, whose members come from more than 20 countries, explores the subject by heading on a musical journey. Their programme was inspired by conversations with young people: Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, the Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony in C Minor, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Overture to »Don Giovanni«.
