Hans-Joachim Roedelius has written music history. He ranks as a pioneer of experimental electronic music and a trailblazer of krautrock. Yet the now 80-year-old musician is far from thinking about retirement. In 2011 he paired up with Stefan Schneider, who is a generation younger than him, and together they produced their album »Stunden«. From the piano Roedelius provided the musical impulses which Schneider wove into an electronic context, thereby creating a sound that has been compared to Eric Satie or the room-filling ambient music of Roedelius’ erstwhile companion Brian Eno. Their new project »Tiden« condenses this concept into »miniatures which range from highly melodic to solidly abstract« (Musikexpress).
