Richard Galliano & Ron Carter
Elbphilharmonie Jazz
On stage, French accordion master Richard Galliano’s fingers acrobatically dance over his instrument’s keys, enabling it to sing with joy or weep in melancholy.
Ron Carter has enriched countless jazz recordings with his unique bass playing skills. He can be heard on more then 2,000(!) recordings and has been invited to join Miles Davis, Archie Shepp, Herbie Hancock, Antonio Carlos Jobim and other big names in the studio. By now, Carter can look back on a career of more than 50 years at the top of the world’s jazz scene.
In 1990, Richard Galliano and Ron Carter recorded their critically acclaimed »Panamanhattan«: a collection of intimate musical conversations characterised by subtle overtones and sophisticated rhythmic elegance. The two exceptional jazz artists present this remarkable duo programme in one of their rare concerts, live in the Elbphilharmonie.
