Reading and Talk: Bernardine Evaristo »Manifesto«
Booker Prize winner
Woman. Black. Lesbian. Precarious. Writer. For forty years, these were the stigmas Bernardine Evaristo, author of »Girl, Woman, Other« among others, was confronted with. But from the beginning she fought against it, wrote against it, stood up for it. For a space of diversity and tolerance for all. In »Manifesto« she recalls and tells for the first time her unique story, the ups and downs of her life, from her childhood in poor South London in the 1960s to her breakthrough in winning the Booker Prize for her unique novel »Girl, Woman, Other« , as the first Black woman – a manifesto for never giving up.
