Prizewinners’ Gala with the Kammerakademie Potsdam
Tchaikovsky / Saint-Saëns / Mozart / Rossini
The Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft (Cultural Association of German Industry) has been promoting outstanding young musicians since 2007 with the music competition »Ton & Erklärung« – the name a play on the title of Richard Strauss’s famous tone poem »Tod und Verklärung«. Alongside the Kammerakademie Potsdam under the baton of Douglas Boyd, the two prizewinners of the 2018 singing competition, Elena Harsányi and Stefan Astakhov, appear for the first time in the Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall together with pianist Elisabeth Brauß (first prize in the 2015 piano competition) and cellist Friedrich Thiele (first prize in the 2017 cello competition). They play music by Mozart, Rossini, Saint-Saëns and Tchaikovsky.
