Prelude – Reflektor André Heller / Haifischbar goes coffee house – a Viennese song recital
with Victoria Trauttmansdorff and Theresita Colloredo / Elbphilharmonie PLUS
Viennese song in the Haifischbar
The Haifischbar is one of the last and probably the earthiest harbour pub to survive in the now hip district of Altona right by the Elbe. All manner of seafaring souvenirs, a jukebox with oldies and plenty of maritime flair ensure cult status. Tonight, though, it’s not old sailors spinning their yarns, but two women from Vienna whose songs and stories transform the harbour bar into a Viennese coffee house.
Actress Victoria Trauttmansdorff has been a member of the ensemble at Hamburg’s Thalia Theatre for over 30 years, but is still Viennese at heart. She and fellow actress Theresita Colloredo – another Vienna native who has settled in Hamburg – turn into two cheerful Viennese waiters here. Although they also serve the guests, they actually prefer to sing and take the audience on a stroll through Vienna with plenty of humour and accompanied by beautiful Schrammelmusik, Wienerlied and Austropop. They are accompanied by Icelandic accordionist Hrólfur Vagnsson, a fisherman’s son who is sure to feel right at home in the harbour pub.
This culinary-musical evening is the perfect prelude to the concert »Die Besten aus Wien« on 24 March, to which all-round artist and Viennese veteran André Heller has invited all the musical celebrities of his native city as part of his »Reflektor« festival.
