People have been wondering who is behind the pseudonym Jean-Luc Bannalec, Breton master of detective stories, since the first of his eight books was published in 2012. With the ninth volume in the popular crime novel series, the eccentric police inspector Dupin comes to Hamburg – in person, and with his identity revealed as Jörg Bong, who was publishing director of S. Fischer Verlage until 2019.
Jean-Luc Bannalec has served his public all kinds of dishes: corpses on sandy beaches, acts of violence in beautiful Concarneau, the blue town by the sea. With every new book, his readers explore different parts of Brittany and get to know the foibles of the local population. In the latest novel, »Breton Specialities«, inspector Dupin has to go to the seaside resort Dinard, to Cancale, famed for its oysters, and to the restaurant scene at Saint-Malo. At the centre of his investigations are two sisters, award-winning lady chefs, family secrets and tragic twists.
