Mnozil is an inn located in Vienna’s First District, and is the birthplace of Mnozil Brass. Here, directly opposite the College of Music, seven young brass players used to meet regularly back in 1992. Classical folk music soon turned into applied brass music, always played from memory, for all kinds of situations: traditional wind music, hit songs, jazz and pop, opera and operetta. Free of any fear of genre boundaries, but with generous helpings of Viennese charm and black humour, and full of finesse. Nowadays, Mnozil Brass play a good 130 concerts a year all over the world – from the Rocky Mountains and Shibuya to the small municipality of Ühlingen-Birkendorf in Germany.
