»Nullerjahre – Jugendjahre in blühenden Landschaften« (Noughties – Adolescence in a Flourishing Landscape) is the autobiographic novel by rapper and author Hendrik Bolz, in which he opens the door to the world of his youth. The novel is set in Bolz’s home city of Stralsund in the north-eastern corner of Germany – a world that has little to do with what passes as normality in the west. Bolz, who was born in 1988, paints a vivid picture of a decade in eastern Germany that explains much about the entire nation in the present day.
